Ubuntu Budgie 17.10 Beta 2
If you tried the first Ubuntu Budgie 17.10 beta you'll be in deja vu territory with this second spin as there are no major changes save for a few fixes and packaging tweaks here and there.
It offers the latest Budgie desktop 10.4 (including an improved Alt + Tab switcher and panel layout options among others) plus some of its own added extras too, including:
- Night light and Caffeine applets installed by default
- Folder Color is installed by default
- Improved Budgie Welcome
- gThumb replaces Shotwell
- Tilix replaces Terminix as default terminal emulator

Ubuntu MATE 17.04 Beta 2
Movies on premiere. As the previous Ubuntu MATE 17.10 beta delivered a truck load of goodies, including various new panel configurations (including macOS and Unity layouts) an (entirely optional) HUD and global menu applet for accessing menu items, there's little strictly new to this beta.
But, again, if you have yet to sample the changes on offer now is a good time to do it.
